INTERNET SENSATION

This is a list of the most viral videos on Youtube. 

Choose one, watch it, and make a hypothesis as of why it became so viral. 

Then, discuss:

What does a video need to become viral?

What happens after a video becomes viral?

Who decides the viralization of a video?

 

Vocabulary

1. The teacher will assign to you some words. Find the meaning of the word and its possible relation with the topic we have been studying. 

2. When you have the words, share them with a classmate and try to see if any of those words can fill out the blank spaces HERE.

Practice 

Choose 2 of the questions and write down a follow up question for it. Then, have a discussion with your peers.

Example:

During a typical day, when do you think the spikes are in Internet use?

[Follow up] What factors determine those spikes?

Although viral videos are an excellent to make Youtube grow, today you are going to recommend another more impactful way of using Youtube. 

Recommend to your audience a way in which using youtube can change your life.

Read the idea worth spreading of the author

Predict possible reasons why he belives such a thing.

Discuss: 

What is your perspective on success? What is the meaning of it for you?

Do people put more weight on their failures than on their successes? Why?

Make your own question related with failure and success.

You make your own luck in life 

Is it possible to have a good work-life balance?

 

In your podcast, you will include some information you learned, and also some information from research you did. The idea is that you can teach the class something new.

Begin and finish your podcast in a strong way.

2. Listen carefully and find the moments where the speaker uses the following expressions:

Main Activity

Take a look at this article. Choose 2 inventions and bring them to the class to argue if they should have a patent. Follow the criteria from the book. 

At the end, you should end up with at least 2 inventions that you will give a patent to.
