 Watch the video on page 8, exercise 3A, and answer the questions in exercises 4A and 5.

Vocabulary

1. The teacher will assign you 2 skills from the book (page 8, ex 6)

2. Come up with two examples of how you can show this ability at work.

3. Let your classmates guess what skill you're talking about.

Example:

St A: I can show this skill when I receive coaching and I am always open to feedback. I never complain and have a nice way to do things.

St B: is it "can-do attitude"?

Vocabulary Application

1. Choose two of the skills studied.

2. Prepare a 4-minute workshop in which you show your classmates how to develop and foster that ability.

-Include examples of how to foster it 

-Relate it with your job at Liberty 

-Relate it to your role 

3. Keep these roles:

Presenter: present your workshop, open a space for Q&A.

Audience: make sure to take notes and later share them with other peers.

Include a minimum of 5 vocabulary words in your presentation.

-Make a list of which you included and share it with your teacher and classmates.

Have you ever received any advice about your career?
Talk about:

-who gave it to you

-what he/she said.

-if the advice was useful in any way.

Have you ever received advice about finding jobs online? What do you know about this?

What should a professional profile on a platform like LinkedIn be like? 

 

Listening Activity (page 10)


    Make a list of pieces of advice you would give the student. 

    Make sure to include the following:

Create a tutorial / do's and don'ts presentation / guide on how to have a good profile on a platform like LinkedIn. 

Include: 

-Advice about your picture and general aesthetics of the profile 

-Advice about the CV and what ot should be like 

-Examples of skills you can talk about in the CV (use the vocabulary) 

-Advice on how to engage with others and build networks

 

Do research if necessary. 

Be ready to present to your classmates 

Be ready to provide feedback and comments to your classmates.

Student B: applicant in the interview. 

Have a short conversation in which student A interviews student B about his qualifications for the role. 

Stundent B: build rapport, answer questions, ask quesitions, talk about you as a professional. 

Student A: ask questions, get to know the applicant, answer their questions.

Role 1: you researched solar panels, their characteristics, and an example of a company that uses them. 

Role 2: you researched wind energy, its characteristics, and an example of a company that uses it. 

Role 3: you will hear both points of view and will choose an option to start working on the project 

Do research or prepare questions

Try to use the vocabulary about interrupting and giving your opinion
